The Memorial House was built in the birthplace of Ilonka Tóth, a young medical student who was martyred and executed after the 1956 Revolution and War of Independence. The aim of the Tóth Ilonka Tóth Memorial House is to commemorate not only the young martyr, but all the revolutionaries of 1956. The house will present the world of the 1950s and the life of the martyred medical student with the help of a number of original documents relating to Ilonka Tóth. An education centre has been created in the garden of the restored house, which, in addition to the lecture theatre, includes a replica of the courtroom - the Grand Jury Room of the Metropolitan Court - where Ilonka Tóth and her fellow defendants were tried.
